6-3, 200 lbs? He's big - I wonder if this may be an LB project.

Congrats, Miles. Welcome to SMU.

They want to play safety which is one reason why he liked SMU. Others wanted him to go to LB.

Really? I thought he liked SMU because we were the only ones showing any real interest or offering. We didn't even have to fight off FCS teams for this one

If we were playing FCS football, we'd have a great class. Unfortunately, JJ keeps forgetting we're going to the BE next year. This recruiting (or lack thereof against FBS-caliber teams) is symptomatic of his lethargic attitude towards doing the work it takes as a HC (and given his salary) to make us relevant.

So you didn't see he had interest from Kansas, Tulsa, Purdue, and Arizona State? Didn't know they all dropped to FCS...

Interest does not equal offer.

Mason has said they were really focusing on getting larger safeties the last couple of years and especially now heading into the BE. With Randolph and these last 2 pickups, it seems that's the case.

If we can just land a big DT in this class, I'll actually be ok with it.

Interest equals "Look kid, you might get an offer around signing day if the guys we really want go elsewhere and we get desperate".

Interest can mean getting recruiting brochure in mail, Coach attending high school spring practice or getting invited to Junior Days along with 300 high school kids-85% of which will never get a single offer

Well, I stand corrected. The quote from the article seems to suggest offers would have been made had he been more flexible. I have to believe he talked with coaches at those schools since a mail out can't ask you if you are willing to play LB....
