Best time of year to find under radar/underrecruited players

It seems now it is so late in the recruiting season that SMU just needs to look at a lot of players that have no offers or no FBS (D1A) and they can get a commit almost on the spot if they offer because they know it might be their only FBS (D1A) offer. SMU can load up on these types of players and not a to spend time recruiting players with multiple FBS (D1A) offers. Just go to some high profile schools like West Orange Stark and Collleyville Hertiage then ask the HS coaches who has not been offered that is pretty good then offer. It saves time recruiting.

Sounds like how a 1-AA team recruits

This is pathetic. I am referring specifically to the D2 mentality on the board.

College football is entertainment for me. That means you won't see me attacking players that love my school as much as I do. That means that while the season is going, all I want is wins and when we lose I feel bad for the team/coaching staff. I root for my team no matter what. I don't understand the loser mentality of being an enormous Captain Bringdown for 365 days a year. This does nothing for the program. You may believe that others are just "accepting a d2" mentality. And maybe we can bring someone in that will recruit better. But the mentality of having absolutely nothing good to say about our program which most would say is on the rise is not even D3. You guys are in the NAIA bud. And that negativity has consequences for all of us...

Stallion are you suggesting that SMU has gone from recruiting against BCS offers to non BCS offers to FCS (D1AA) offers to recruiting against interested schools that have not offered?

What do you mean that NOW is the time to get guys with no other offers? SMU has been doing this all year. This is their recruiting strategy.

No in that answer I was making the point generally that you shouldn't give too much credit to a profile that simply lists interest unless you have more information. My comments weren't directed at any particular recruit. I just feel "Interest" is way overrated unless there is documented contacts, offers, visits

How dare you say colleyville is a high profile school. Carroll will always eat those pathers (?) I think. I dont know the grapevine mustangs and colleyville love thinking they are actually good. Maybe Coppell... obviously allen is legit.
