Oklahoma City (Carl Albert), Okla. safety Steve Dunn is one of the better DBs in Oklahoma. He's 5-10, 195 and runs a 4.5 40. He has benched 340 and squats 520.

He's a great student, with a 4.2 GPA and scored a 22 on his ACT, so he's already qualified.

As a sophomore, he was named Player of the Game in the state championship game. Dunn was a preseason all-state selection as a junior, and was a Class 5A All Star in his junior campaign, while being named second-team all-city and all-state. His team has won the state championship twice in his HS career. As a junior, Dunn had 144 tackles, 5 sacks and 2 caused fumbles.

So far, he's listing Oklahoma State, Colorado, SMU, Houston, Stanford, TCU, Arizona State and Tulsa. So far, he's taken unofficial visits to SMU, Tulsa and TCU.

You'd like your safeties a little bigger than that, but I have read that Dunn is a sensational player.

I don't know... For a high school safety 195 sounds big.

Coming out of high school, of course, it's only wild speculation as to REALLY how tall, big and strong a kid is. But also remember the kid is only a junior, so he's probably still growing.

Of course, 5'10" 195 compares favorably with our current safeties too, and this kid would have 3-4 years of growing by the time he caught up to our guys.

Not so fast, my friend!

"Of course, 5'10" 195 compares favorably with our current safeties...."

Rico Harris is 6-2, 210
Alvin Nnabuife is 6-1, 202

This kid would be close, and surely would add weight. But I wouldn't say he compares favorably just yet.
