University of Colorado starting MLB Andrew Ward is transferring and is considering LSU, TCU, SMU, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss. He has already visited TCU and is traveling to Vandy this weekend. He played HS in Shreveport.
My earlier post failed to mentioned SMU, but I read this in the New Orleans Times Picayune this AM and he said he is considering Southern Methodist.

One of the posts below mentioned SMU is on his list. Do you know whether or not this is true?

Yes it it true. I read the actual article from the Denver Post and it mentions SMU.

But do we have any scholarships available for the kid if he decides SMU is where he wants to be?
Why's he leaving Boulder? Playing time?

After reading the article and being from Shreveport, I think he just didn't like the liberal atmosphere of the school. Evangel is an INSANELY concervative Christian school and I think he wants to get back to more comfortable surroundings. But I could be wrong.

From the 5-6-03 Morning News:
Former Colorado LB considers SMU, TCU
UNIVERSITY PARK  Colorado linebacker Andrew Ward has left the team and is considering transferring to SMU, said his father, Reid Ward.
Andrew Ward, who attended Shreveport (La.) Evangel, finished spring drills No. 1 at inside linebacker at Colorado and would have three years of eligibility remaining after sitting out a season, per NCAA transfer rules.
Ward, who has received his release from Colorado, has visited TCU and is considering Mississippi and Vanderbilt, among others.

So when do we find out on this guy?
And do we have a scholarship to offer, if Coach Bennett decides he wants Ward and Ward decides he wants SMU?

This guy gave serious thought to SMU when he was coming out of high school. And he's giving SMU some very legitimate consideration now.
