High school LB - college safety?

Kyle Purnell is a small (5-10, 195, 4.65) LB from Houston (Jersey Village), Texas. He's strong (benches 340, squats 450) and already qualified (3.2 GPA, 930 SAT).

Statistics:
- Junior - 118 tackles, 9 TFL, 3 Sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, and 2 interceptions.

College Choices
TCU
Houston
Sam Houston State
SMU
Texas A&M
Baylor

Purnell hasn't received any offers yet, and has not taken any unofficial visits. At the moment, he plans to attend camps at A&M, Sam Houston State and TCU.

Like some of the other readers of this board, I put some stock in who else is recruiting a kid. That list of schools this guy is considering doesn't make him appear to be a top-shelf prospect that we supposedly are going after.

80% of the recruiting info right now is based on questionaire type info about a kid's preferances. You can't tell who is really recruiting a kid until the school offers a visit or a scholarship.
