From a football standpoint we need to get back into Kimball, SOC, and Pinkston since we have gotten a commit from Skyline. Hines would help get back into Kimball.
EJ Holland â€@EJSports4
Dallas Kimball LB Brandon Hines picked up an offer from #SMU and lists the Mustangs in his top 3.

We have the best chance to pick up a 4 star at LB (the only one we've gotten has been one) since our defense makes superstars out of the LB position by design. Also, if our O will show it, the WR position is the other position we have a best chance to get a 4 star (got one last year but it slipped away).
Should be getting 3-4 four stars every year by now with a real shot at a 5 star in the next couple of years (unless a miracle can happen like RSJ -- if we were in the Big12 I bet we'd get him quite honestly).

I think he may want to stay in Dallas so we may have a good chance at him. I also need to add Dallas Carter to that list as well. I don't think we have one player from DISD student on the current football team while we are proclaiming to be Dallas' team. And that should not be the case imo. Go get him Coach Phillips.

As usual, JJ & his staff are late on the recruiting trail...I'm not expecting to see these Kimball kids in an SMU uniform.

I may be wrong but I don't think Pinkston produces much anymore, down to a 3A school now. I think they produce a D1 kid once every few years. Even the kids I know from West Dallas avoid that place like the plague and ride busses to Roosevelt, Skyline or any other school they can get to (LG Pinkston - they call it Let's Get Pregnant HS)...I think they had a D1 caliber basketball player there last year who was academically ineligible. I believe it was the lowest ranked school in the state of Texas last year. Sad.

My bad about Pinkston. I probably should have left them off the list but I heard that we were looking at a player there.

Should be looking at the Desoto, Lancaster, Cedar Hill, Duncanville kids. More talent out of those schools than the DISD schools (with Skyline being the exception).
However, SMU recruiters don't look at the kids. And in return, those kids don't even give a thought to attending SMU.

Those schools should have a coach parked outside of the them.

Anybody else notice the Kimball recruits on the jumbotron at the Houston game?

I love that jacket----happy to see diamond lettering on something!!! As I've said before, a couple of years ago, there were a couple of football players at my son's high school (Clear Springs in League City)
who were hoping to hear from SMU. They would mention this to my son (he helped w/the team and wore his SMU stuff all of the time).....nothing, nada. Now UT has a true freshman starting this year and A&M has a couple starting for them (these were not the guys who wanted to hear from SMU). Sad that it seems our coaches ignore this school that has done nothing but win since season 1.
