FW linebacker likes SMU

Postby Roach » Wed May 07, 2003 11:26 am

Saw this on Insiders:

Tyson Reich (6-1, 193, 4.5) of Fort Worth (North Crowley) plays LB and FB, but is projected as a LB or SS in college. So far, he likes Oklahoma, BYU, Colorado, SMU and TCU.

At that size and speed, he'd have to be a safety. There are very few guys out there who could play linebacker at that size.

that's just about exactly the size that Bordano was when he signed with SMU. REMEMBER these recruits are juniors. Give me a player with quickness, can run and with good strength over a big heavy slow footed player any day. The weight and strength will come with maturity.

True, but for an LB, wouldn't you like to see either more weight/size, or at least a longer frame (like Jamar Bey and Cole Horton), so you know they can add significant weight and strength?

Thought Bordano was taller than that, even when he came out of high school. But if this kid turned in to another Bordano, I'd take a dozen like him, every year.ô
