BBall will help FBall recruiting over time

Postby The PonyGrad » Thu Nov 01, 2012 5:07 pm

As LB's recruits have success and raise the profile of SMU that will help FB IMHO. (Still need aggressive FB recruiting, I know.)

Yes and it could start with signing RSJ since he can play both ways here!

Only if LB's staff recruits the football players for JJ's staff. JJ's staff has no interest in recruiting.

Kind of what I was thinking. But I do think you get some name recognition help.

Part of the problem with UK is that they have no recruiting base for football. There really are only 1 or 2 good high school football programs in Kentucky. Not realy sure about North Carolina.

Don't think that's stopping Louisville.

Do agree that it was big time help with name recognition though.

I would trade off being a bball powerhouse for having a crappy football program. At least we could fill Moody

Your theme is correct; however, it should have been the other way around. JJ in his 5th year of recruiting should have set the standard for getting top quality kids talking about SMU and heading to Dallas. It is a real shame that it takes a coach, who Orsini would not even talk to for the first 4 weeks of his basketball coaching search, to come in and immediately start talking to top kids and spreading the word that SMU has something to offer both academically and athletically.
