SMU has gotten into the running for Brandon Swearingen (6-0, 175, 4.5) of Midwest City (Carl Albert HS), Okla. Swearingen is a very legitimate D-I prospect probably as a DB or RB. For now at least, SMU is competing with Colorado, Colorado State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tulsa and TCU.

We're pretty stacked at RB - is this guy a CB or a safety when he plays defense?

Bennett has said on several occasions that he likes recruiting high school RBs, since they are often the best overall athletes on the team. I imagine we'll see a lot of RBs signed who eventually become DBs in our system.

He's done a lot of that at his other coaching stops. A bunch of talented K-State, OU and A&M DBs who played for Coach Bennett were RBs in high school.
