smumustangs.com reports that Coach Bennett's camps are this week
Junior/Senior Mini-Camp -- 11th-12th Grade -- June 6
7 on 7 Passing Tourney -- 9th-12th Grades -- June 7
Lineman Challenge -- 9th-12th Grades -- June 7
Mustang Football Camp -- players 14-18 years old -- June 8-11
(there's another camp in july)
Think we'll see any commitments out of this? Any word on some players who are/will be there?

You can never tell about whether or not we'll get any commitments, but I think we've taken the initiative by getting the Chase Brothers. I'm so encouraged by the number of campers and the quality of coaching at SMU right now. I expect before the summer is through we'll have around six or seven guys pledge SMU. Man would it be nice for that Weatherford kid from FL that is supposedly camping here this summer to really put SMU on the recruiting map. A long, long, longshot but hey...stranger things have happened

And the way I see it SMU is due a break or two. Peace
Kurt

Too bad the Cheerleader camp isn't held at the same time. Man when I visited SMU there were all these hot cheerleaders walking around. Gave me a glimpse of what fall would be like.

Just to clarify Eaststang, the cheerleader camps are going on right now.

There were over 350 here this week! Next week, when the big boys get here, the number is staggering!

hmmm maybe Bennett is paying attention to detail placing the SMU camps at the same time as Cheerleader camps.

after all, you want these young studs to appreciate how beautiful the SMU campus can be!

Hold on a minute, guys. As I recall from my days taking summer classes, most of these cheerleaders are elementary & junior high. It was a more annoying experience than anything else.

there may be lots of Jr High kids, but there are enough high school squads to capture the imagination of these H.S. guys that are attending camp.

Ehh..afraid not.. I took summer B last year, and that high school and college squads didn't arrive until the end of June. Maybe they upped the sched. this year? They really should.

If memory serves, college cheerleaders arrive in August. High school shortly before that, meaning the cheerleaders on campus now are way too young.

Cheerleader camps have been going on for the past two weeks and have been outstanding. Over 2400 females from junior high to high school. The biggest schools (Plano West, Allen, etc.) were here.
Trust me when I say...."God is improving his gene pool"...as the participants fit our gorgeous campus to a "T"!!

Then they've definitely moved up the schedule this year. I remember working during two-a-days last year and the college girls were here definitely in July. I remember the OSU girls...both the teams they had... my lord. I think they were definitely my favorites.

I was always partial to LSU, Bama, Arizona State, Georgia and believe it or not, Indiana and Nebraska.

Last year, the OSU and OU girls definitely took the cake. The Nebraska girls.. and I think it was A&M's girls... they weren't too shabby either.
