Posted: Mon Jun 23, 2003 5:15 pmIt does not mean much that only Baylor and UTEP has offered him at this point. It is still early in the recruiting process. He will still continue to get offers even though he committed to us, especially if he has a great senior year. I think it is great that we were able to get this kid. We are starting to win some recruiting battles over other schools. In the past, we were getting players that had SMU as there only Division 1 offer. Now, we are getting players that other schools want as well. With our limited number of scholarships available for next year, Bennett would not have offered him if he was not a great player. Bennett is a great talent evaluator and I'm sure this kid will be a gem.

FYI: I saw another report that had him listed at 6-1. That's huge for a cornerback. He and Robert Gilmore represent the tallest pair of SMU CBs in quite a while, maybe ever. Now we just need to get Gilmore healthy and out on the field!

Posted: Mon Jun 23, 2003 6:13 pmI couldn't find much online about Lindley, except that he's mentioned on the Texas 5A Top 10 lists as one of the "Best of the Rest". Meaning that while he's not (according to them) one of the Top 10 DBs in Texas, he's still pretty dang good.
