SMU has offered a scholarship to Richardson (Pearce) RB Parrish Fisher (5'11", 204, 4.4, 285 bench, 520 squat). One service I look at it rates him as a 4-star running back prospect. He also has offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Boston College, Colorado, Syracuse, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Arizona, Vanderbilt and Wyoming.

NOW you're talking! This guy is the real deal - I just didn't know he had any contact from SMU at all. He's incredibly strong for a HS running back, and has very good balance and speed. I've seen him run over a guy and then sprint away from the defense many times. He has pretty good hands coming out of the backfield, too.

I'll vouch for PonyTales' assessment. Fisher is a very strong, fast running back. If he can't work his way in to the RB rotation, I'm sure they could find a way to get him on the field. He's real gifted.

I just saw a report on rivals that says Fisher is leaning toward Iowa State, and doesn't have SMU on his list anymore.

The report on Rivals that I read still lists us and says nobody is leading. Note the report is from an Iowa State service. I hear that he likes us but who knows.

suppose he might be concerned about playing time behind Massey (and Fitzgerald if he's the real deal)? We also have a number of smaller scat-back types, so we suddenly appear to have some depth at that position.

I cannot imagine that the other schools he is considering do not have competition at his position. Every great school has competition at each position.
