Cedar Hill receiver Quincy Adeboyejo committed to Texas A&M way back in March, long before A&M started a terrific season that has made it a red hot destination for recruits.

But at the receiver position, maybe it’s a little too hot. With the commitment last week of Rivals’ 4-star receiver Tony Stevens of Evans High School in Orlando, Fla., the Aggies now have eight players — including those classified as “athletes” –- who could end up at receiver.

The number could’ve been nine, but Adeboyejo decommitted from A&M over the weekend. I talked with him about it Monday for a recruiting column that will run Wednesday.

“When I committed, I knew they needed receivers,” Adeboyejo said. “They told me they were only going to take five, but then when it got to nine, it kind of got out of hand.”

Adeboyejo, who had 91 receptions and 17 touchdowns last season, said Monday that seven schools had contacted him over the weekend, including TCU and Texas Tech. He plans to visit Tech next weekend.

Cedar Hill teammate Laquvionte Gonzalez, who’s expected to be a slot receiver and kick returner in college, remains committed to Texas A&M.

With the help of Adeboyejo and Gonzalez, Cedar Hill was the 5A Division II state runner-up last season. Cedar Hill led powerhouse Katy in the fourth quarter of the title game before Katy’s Adam Taylor broke things open.

we are too full with 2 stars with no offers that we piled up over the summer with guys with no alternatives. This is why you don't take no for an answer and keep recruiting guys until signing date even though I know it hurts the feelings of you guys when they say no to your alma mater

Totally agree with that. Sales 101, which is what all recruiting is.

Both these kids can play.

They made things tough for Westlake in the semifinals.

I'd be on him like white on rice...
