He's up to 270 pounds now ... and reportedly has never lifted weights in his life. I saw him on his weekend and he looked almost lanky, if that's possible for a guy that heavy. He has wide shoulders, long arms, etc., and looks like he could add a ton of weight.

Offers from SMU, Hawaii and Houston.

Is this our first Samoan recruit under JJ?

I hope his high school prepared him well enough to stay at SMU. Generally the Samoan schools are not that good.

If he actually enrolls yes. The other 2 did not get into SMU after signing.

No we signed a "real Samoan" ie actually from Samoa in June's second year. Great prospect but never qualified. I don't think he was able to graduate from JUCO. Went through 2-3 JUCOs. Never heard from again despite being physically a great prospect.

That's right. What was that kid's name again?

BTW, Pago Pago, where Jerry Saega hails from, is the capital of American Samoa

I believe Coulter was also from Pago Pago if I am not mistaken.

Can you confirm either now or in the recruiting roundup if he is academically qualified?

Beck Coulter looked like such a beast.
