Who was the last good RB to come out of Highland Park?
The measurables on that Highland Park QB (Jett) and the WR (Koons) appear pretty good. Is their offense as good as it was when I lived there (mid-'90s)?

Before you get too excited about the HP kids, I don't think Tim Jett is going to start as I believe a sophomore named Matthew Stafford is going to start. Matthew Stafford is the real deal and supposedly Texas has already offered him. Also, Russell English is a good high school player who isn't near that big. Don't remember Johnny Koons playing last year.

You are right. Koons is the real deal this year on offense. Stafford is superb. fifteen ,6'3",205, an arm like a connon and touch.

I read in the newspaper where Stafford is pegged as the starter, at least for now.

yeah I saw these guys listed the other day-on Max Emfinger's National List-as I've said many time Emfinger's list usually includes about 35% who never receive a Division 1 offer so I was skeptical to say the lest especially since I knew the HP QB wasn't even a starter last year so unless they are projected as a prospect on athleticism alone you wonder if they are top recruits. However, remember HP QB last year Bill Foran had never started a game before and he ended up as one of the top 5 QBs in Texas last year-and signed with Purdue. But I did see the QB named Erbstroesser from Georgetown listed in the Lone Star Top 100 another highly questionable list but one which at least includes decent recruits. I think the little kid Ross Irving also from Geogetown is getting some attention from Division 1 schools. Georgetown apparently went deep into the State 5A 7 on 7 Tornament this year. Riley Morris is from a 2A school which would be a big jump. I don't think Peveto was a starter last year either as they had all-conference QB in Cole Ford. He's from the same school as Justin Boren so maybe someone could give us some more info.

I think Foran will be a decent player at Purdue, but in general, I think skill position guys from HPHS fare as well in college as Penn State running backs fare in the NFL - they disappear.
