Sorry a little busy today but I see my assistants are filling in nicely. I would add that he also got an offer from Kansas as well as Tech and SMU not bad this early. He is currently the No. 89 recruit in the Insiders Texas Top 100. He was No. 69 in April. He is No. 59 in the Lone Star Top 100. Rivals has only given him 2 stars probably because of his size 5-8-that plays a part in their evaluation so its not that surprising-schools that play a wide open offense like Tech-like Kansas under Manigino and now SMU really don't care and he is great for those offenses. Some sources have him running 4.3s.

I think it was "1411" who posted that Henderson might be the fastest player Coach Bennett has ever recruited. If that's true - wow.

Great news about yet another east Texan. Mr. Henderson needs to change his profile to reflect the "SMU MUSTANGS" as his favorite college team. Way to go Bennett and Staff. Speed kills.

So SMU, which some have said isn't the fastest team in the world, is getting a lot faster. Every team signs RBs and WRs who can run. But it sounds like Henderson, Ervin McGee, Fred Turner and C.D. Moss are absolutel burners. The kind of fast that can change a game on a single play.

Insiders says that although Henderson is a RB/CB/KR in high school, he projects as a WR in college.

"Another speedy, two-way athlete, Henderson put up some impressive numbers in 2002, rushing for 1,396 yards on 174 carries with 15 touchdowns. Will likely be projected as a slot receiver or corner on the next level."

He is quoted in the Paris paper as expecting to play running back at SMU. Maybe we got him by promising rb, while other schools were talking corner and wideout. Whatever it takes I say.

Hoop fan hit it on the head. Jessie has been assured he is the only tailback in this recruiting class. Coach Bennett compares him very favorably to Darren Sproles of K.State (with more speed!). He was the fastest man at Tech (4.25/40), at SMU in June (4.39 on grass), at Arkansas (4.34) and at Texas A&M (4.30) in his various camps this summer.
