its a great start - i think we need to get some good news soon though. We do seem to have picked things up a bit as far as targets.

Here's a pretty recent video of dual-threat QB commit Darrel Colbert. Fans of '90s soundtracks should find the video particularly enjoyable.

I know it's early, and star gazing on Rivals isn't an exact science, but does it seem we're behind even where we were a few years ago recruiting wise, with just one 3-star and six 2-stars committed? Back in 2011 we had 20 3-stars and 6 2-stars in our final class. I realize these ratings change and all, but who are we presently in on that I can get excited/anxious about?

June has often said that "stars" mean very little........

Not saying anything will change but listening to the Rivals guy here in Arkansas he said, as has Stallion, that if they gave not sent in video for review and/or attended a Rivals camp, they are not yet actually rated and will carry a 2 star. There could be movement with our recruits as the season gets under way and more info is available.

Another year and another [deleted] recruiting class. Can't wait till June gets canned and replaced with a coach and staff that actually values recruiting.

And you say that based on your knowledge of these players from your spot in Kuwait and based on your years as a talent evaluator? The recruiting services' computer geeks haven't even rated a lot of these guys yet. Stop making assumptions.

Quality offers is a good indication.....and not many of the current class have them. Looks like another class of "diamonds in the rough" so far but we are winning the recruiting battles against NTSU, UTSA, Texas State, and ULM.........

What does my location have anything to do with the way I evaluate talent? You suggest I stop making assumptions, yet you are the one whos making assumptions about my knowledge of football based on my location/registration date. Snob is correct-- I'm basing my judgement on lack of quality offers.. I could give two sh1ts about stars. I'll take a 2-star with multiple BCS offers any day. We wont be making any strides in the football hierarchy with JJ as our coach.. i think that's been made clear countless times on this board

I am enjoying watching a recruiting staff do its work here in Arkansas. They are relentless and going after 4 and 5 star kids. If it is a 3 star recruit he is still nationally ranked. They do not have many committed yet but they are in the running for several. The coaching staff is out every legal moment with every legal number of coaches on the road. Bielema never lost an in state kid he offered in Wisconsin and he says that is the way it should be in Arkansas, and he is fighting Alabama and LSU for a couple right now and I bet he wins. And then here we constantly hear of kids that do not get call backs or are ignored. I will be the first to admit we have an uphill battle against the schools receiving greater revenue but I just do not see or hear of the effort being made. Granted, I am not there but it does not seem to change much year to year.

A lot of the recruits are pretty intriguing, but I'm most interested to see what Walker, Gaines and Hyder end up doing for the Ponies.

I am really excited about Jefferson carrying on the great LB play we have had over the past few years and I have heard a lot of positives on Severt. I believe these are solid commitments and hope the coaching staff can keep up/pick up the momentum going into the fall. A W against TTech will go along way as well.
