Question regarding display of SMU literature at high school.

Postby austinponie » Tue May 21, 2013 12:43 pm

As an alum at Austin Westlake, I was in the coach's office recently to order archived DVDs of certain games. I noticed a display of strength and skill camps from many colleges, but none from SMU.

So my question is, if I ordered a handfull of these and displayed them with coach's permission, would that cross any lines/ be frowned upon, etc??

Your most accurate answer will come from the athletic department, Kyle Conder, Associate A.D./Compliance. [email protected]

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Speaking of Westlake... is there any breaking news on Jordan Severt? That guy really made a great improvement from the beginning of last season.

Expecting big things from him this year.

Hope his interest in SMU holds up, but other offers will probably be coming....

Hope that Westlake makes another big run again. Always enjoyed watching them play and have a lot of respect for Coach Allman as I had the chance to play for him some at Temple High. I plan on making the trip down to Austin to watch Temple and Westlake square off again this next season!
