There's a story on Rivals that says "McBath committed to TCU but... "

I'm hoping the story says "but he really wants to be a Mustang!"

Anyone have access who could paste that story here? Thanks!

It says he wants to look at other schools, SMU included BUT:

He said that he was at the SMU game and they got beat pretty badly and he's not sure if that's anything he wants to be a part of.

Well, Cory Muse was at last year's SMU loss at Oklahoma State, which was equally lopsided. And he already had committed to OSU at the time. He witnessed the carnage in Stillwater last year, yet he still ended up at SMU. A lot of times, we overlook the fact that a big part of recruiting is not just the stadium or the record, but building relationships with recruits, and the SMU coaches appear to be very good at that. I don't think we're out of the running on this kid just yet.

Exhibit A as to why SMU can't sit back and redshirt an entire freshman class if they have kids that can help the team succeed now. Its going to get much tougher on Bennett-just as it was on Cavan-to explain these types of losses as we get 2 and 3 years into the program. Momentum must be maintained to assist recruiting. Players will understand we out-matched as long as there is signs of improvement or hope for the future.

I AGREE WITH STALLION 100%! If we have players on the team, regardless of class, that can help you win games today, then I cannot understand why you don't play them.

Good I don't want that guy to be a Mustang if he doesn't want to be a part of this.We need guys who want to be Mustangs and who want to turn this thing around.

Darcel McBath de-committed from TCU for the second-time but he doesn't seem to be looking at SMU-he's become a hot prospect it looks like.

Where's he looking now?

I'm not giving up on him yet. Avery Cleveland was supposed to be out of reach last year, too.

Rivals lists his SMU interest as not high, not medium, not low, but as none. I think he's probably looking at all the Texas school except UT. They also have Okl. St, Arkansas, and Maryland(?) in the mix. But all that info is just me reading it off the site so take it for what its worth. Others probably know more.

Oh well, I guess we can celebrate in the fact that TCU isn't getting him. Woo-hoo(sarcastic).
