Holy smokes! I realize Holland Hall is a nice little private school, so there might be questions about the level of competition Armstrong faced, but how can anyone bypass a 6'3" safety with 4.45 speed?

Even if you add a tenth for HS coach stopwatches - there are a lot of damn good safeties who didn't break 4.6. They were great because they were big (he doesn't exactly sound thin, but you have to believe this kid's going to fill out, right?) and they were smart, and therefore in the right place at the right time.
