If I'm not mistaken, the young man's father is Ted Stone, an SMU graduate.

Keith , like Ted, was in Dallas real estate. Don't know about Keith's affiliation with SMU - thought he was part of the Canadian invasion in the late 70's and early 80's

I believe these 8th grade offers carry very little weight in the long-run. So much can change between 14-18 years of age and 4 more seasons of football. I think it is a trend NCAA coaches are just doing to get attention for their programs-and for that purpose I think it makes sense.
