It feels so good to have a real and competent coaching staff who understands the importance of recruiting. If we miss on all these top guys at least we know they gave it their full effort

Interesting that we aren't competing with ULM or UNT for many basketball players.......

In hoops we are recruiting against Duke, Kentucky, UT, OU, Louisville and Baylor.....facts are facts. We're competing at the highest possible level in basketball recruiting.

We need to start winning some of those competitions.

Need to start winning some competitions against Duke, Kentucky etc??? I think we are doing an absolutely unbelievable job recruiting, particularly when you consider the recent, abysmal status of smu hoops. The fact that we are even in the conversation with these storied, historic programs blows my mind and really speaks to the incredible job LB and staff are doing.

i think what many underestimated is that when you hire Larry Brown and his entourage of coaches, it is an announcement to the basketball community that you get it and you are serious. Everything else is just talk. If it is one thing the AAU guys understand it is which schools are committed to basketball.

Hiring just another journeyman coach would not have sent that message. Like everything in life its money - new Crum, new Moody, new staff = get ready for some fun.

next - we need some ACC students to come in and teach our students how to be fans. this will be a ton more fun if they embrace this as the "thing to do"

I agree that for SMU to be competing with the Dukes and Kentuckys of the world is an amazing feat.

It proves - once again - that talent will come and play for the right coach. Which is why coaches get paid so much. It has been proven time and time again that the right coach can turn around any program regardless of league, location and history.

See Boise State, Kansas State, Baylor, TCU, ect....

If we can hang onto LB long enought to get "established" and Jank proves to be a keeper - SMU basketball could be in for a nice long run.

We did, Keith Frazier. As for 2014, we have a legit shot at getting Mudiay.
