We often get a commitment from someone who has little or no offers and everyone blasts the commitment or the staff for "another one with no offers from anyone". Now we get a commitment from a young man with no offers from anyone and we seem to be very happy.
Am I missing something or is it just a variance of opinion from different posters?
None of this is meant to reflect on the young man who has committed. I am always happy to welcome new players on board.
I'm right there with you, mrydel. I admit I'll try at times to point out the fact that basically all of our recruits are 2-stars with no other offers but it is kind of like beating a dead horse these days. I'm not sure what is the cause for all the glowing reports on Rhone, hopefully he is a player. Plus, I realize it's not any of these kids fault that they jumped at an opportunity to commit to a great school in a great city, and I realize that some really good players fly under the radar with a lower rating/no offers but it is hard to justify ALL of our recruits as flying under the radar.
I believe it was the 2012 class that had more 3-stars than 2-stars, and we even had a couple of 4-stars until Klemm left but the last couple of classes have a significant downgrade by the recruiting services.
