Overstocking

The last time I read something about it, Texas had four or five wide receivers already committed for Signing Day in February. Now they've offered Kentoon Thornton, they're after Lance Leggett of Arlington and there's another guy (somebody Dickerson) who either is a target of the UT staff or wants to be one, or something.
What gives? How can they afford to take as many as 8 receivers in one class? (Or are they trying to line up commitments from every great player they can, with the intention of withdrawing offers later on?)

I know the lose Roy, BJ, and Sloan this year, so it makes sense to restock, but 7 or 8 seems high.

While it is probably really common, that sucks for those kids that thought they had a ride to UT, and are going to have their scholarship offer withdrawn at the last minute. That could be good for us if we can swoop in and get a few of them.

That's what I'm thinking. (Think Coach Bennett is aware of their WR overload?) Mike Damone is right, they're graduating the best trio of receivers in school history, but they already have a bunch on their bench who could have gone elsewhere, and now they're filling out a relay team of 6'5" guys. It's ridiculous. Hopefully a couple of those big fast kids will get bent out of shape and head to Dallas instead.
