Anyone have an idea whom Bennett is recruiting? He alluded to bringing in a JC Quarterback on his post game Boise State interview. :hmm:

if the rumor mill is correct and he is from Kansas then it might be Chad Wilmott 6-4, 210 from Butler Co. JC. Apparently he is leaning to Arkansas(but remember Brad Jones is only a Junior) but that's all I've heard about the teams interested in him. Coming into season he was a Presaeson 2nd Team JC ALL-American. He seems to be having a good year but info is sketchy. Rivals said he should have been easily voted JC Player of the Week a few weeks ago when the No. 1 and No.2 teams met. In that game he was 22-36 285 yards. Rivals said he was highly recruited out of high school so I don't know why he ended up in JC. He is a Pro-Style QB. This is speculation based upon the JC QBs listed in the Rivals Database. He is also listed in the Insiders who gives him 3 stars. Butler Co. is the No. 1 JC in America right now. Ilooked at some stats from about 5 of his games and he is about a 65% passer and I've seen games with 4, 4 and 3 TDs on only about 27 passes a game. Think they also have a very highly recruited RB too.

Grades maybe?
Who's the hotshot RB? We're not going after a JUCO RB are we?

Wilmott's game by game #'s are at
www.butlercc.edu. Only went 3-for-10 last night in Butler's 70-point performance in their season-closer. Seems the real stars of that offense line up behind him (500+ team rushing yards last night).

My guess is that Coach Bennett is recruiting more than one JUCO quarterback. But I admit, this Wilmott kid sounds pretty impressive.

Matt Jones, not Brad Jones is a Junior but he can not throw the ball. His back-up is a Senior I believe.

Tell UT that he can't throw. He is a great playmaker. Maybe you didn't watch the last 1/4 of the Fla game? He is another Brad Smith.
Why do we think we will get a JC QB from Kansas? KSU always needs a QB and KU will be looking to replace one of the best in the US. Unlike SMU, KU's program is in the rise.

Doesn't Coach Bennett have a ton of connections at Kansas JUCOs from recruiting for K-State?
And yes, Matt Jones can throw. And run. And catch. He's a stud. If he ever worked hard at the game (his rep is that he's lazy), he'd be a first-round pick, according to some.

I'm bumping up this post because of the info on Wilmott who Rivals says has been recruited by SMU.

thought I'd add that Wilmott was named the Jayhawk Junior College Conference Offensive MVP- and I believe is playing in the JC National Championship-this could be one reason his recruitment has been a tad slow since he can't visit.

Got any idea if he has some mobility, or just a big frame/arm?
