Wish list

Postby Hoofprint » Sun Oct 26, 2003 12:26 am

Including the commitments we have so far, here's what I'd like to see in February (using 18 as an estimated number for scholarships):

TE Vincent Chase
WR Bobby Chase
RB/SR Jessie Henderson
RB Andrew McKinney
DB Jonathan Lindley
ATH Wilton McCree

and

2 QBs (1 JUCO, 1 HS)
3 OL (big - without inflated measurements)
4 DL (2 DT, 2 DE - all bit)
1 WR (fast - extremely fast)
2 DB (2 S or 1 S and 1 CB)

Thoughts?

My wish list:

The #1 recruiting class in the nation.

Thats the only way SMU will ever be competitive again. I know it will never happen. I'm just fanatasizing.

Sure could use Graham Harrell or Rhett Bomar.

I'm interested to see Phillips - for more than four games - before I'll pass judgement.
By the way, is it McCree or McCray?

Put a couple of big linemen (James McClinton 6-1, 289 and Kevin Mims 6-4, 245), a big DB (Randy Duncan 6-4,190) and a couple of LBs (Bradley Bullitt 6-0, 225 and Alvin Newhouse 6-2, 220) on my wish list. More size and speed please...at every position.

Newhouse is a stud who will get more recruiting attention as the year goes on. Bullitt and Duncan aren't quite as big as they're listed (I've seen both). I've never seen McClinton or Mims, so I can't say how accurate their listed numbers are. But McClinton, in particular, seems to be wow-ing everyone who sees him.

you may be disappointed on Christmas because other than Bullit it doesn't appear we have a real good shot at those kids.

Linemen.
Offensive linemen who can open lanes and protect the QBs.
Defensive linemen who can stuff the run and generate at least a little bit of a pass rush.
