I'm going to keep pushing for SMU to go after this Ennis DT until he commits somewhere. He's huge (6'1" and somewhere between 310 and 330) and extremely quick. He's absolutely unblockable, and he can occupy the middle of the line like nobody I've ever seen. Does anyone know if SMU is even trying to get this guy?

I do agree with comments that we have a pretty good stable of OL who will start maturing next year, but we are still thin on the DL, especially in the interior. We need another beast in the middle of that DL. One quality guy would be good for this recruiting class.

I'd love to have him and this is just an aside, but Highland Park must have figured out a way to block him. That Stafford kid went crazy.

That's true, we (HP) did figure him out -- he was double-teamed or triple-teamed on every single play. I don't think HP has an OL over 250, and this guy would have thrown them around. What impressed me the most was that even with the double-teams and triple-teams, this guy went hard until the whistle blew after every single play. And although he wasn't able to stop Stafford, HP sure didn't try to run his direction at all, and pass plays were mostly to the outside or deep balls -- they wanted no part of Tommy Daniels. Hats off to the HP coaching staff - they recognized this kid as a major strength of the Ennis defense, and gameplanned to stay away from him.

Isn't that Randy Allen guy pretty much a jerk though? Whats up with the Tom Landry impersonation? Some balls. And before you get defensive, I've heard some former Scot players who follow the program make comments. The guy runs a heck of an offense I will say that. Maybe he should be our OC.

I don't know about the "jerk" tag, but he certainly does have .... well, let's call it a "confidence" about him. And you're right - the fedora looks a little silly on a high school football coach. Or any coach not named Landry or Bryant. He runs a nice offense for high school, but I'm siding with those on this site who don't want a HS coach as offensive coordinator. A position coach -- MAYBE, but only if it's the right HS coach, and I don't know whether Allen is that coach or not.
