SMU Commit Chris Hall (6-5, 285, 5.1) of Irving was listed as a 4 star as was his buddy Marcus Shavers from Allen. Shavers was listed as a TE but it appears he contributes more on the defensive line. Correct? Congrats Chris. BTW Emfinger states that he considers a 4 star to be a National Top 300(and I'm guessing probably a Texas Top 50 as well.) Also on the list as a 4 star is Jamaal Charles brother of ShanDerrick.

They both look pretty impressive, if you ask me.
Can't wait to see them both suit up for SMU!

he said he was offered by SMU and was considering the offer earlier this year but remember he's just a Junior today. Search for Shavers on the Recruiting Board to see what his thoughts were. Otherwise, the services won't really start covering the recruitment of Juniors until February. Less than 1% of kids commit by Dec of their Junior year.

Yes, we've offered Shavers. He's a good TE, and a terrific DE. He's going to be pursued by a bunch of schools. Hopefully the fact that we locked in on him so early will help down the road. This is the kind of player we need to sign!

If Marcus is a great TE and a terrific DE, you had better tell the Allen coaches. Because he played DT all year long. Not that he couldn't play those positions, but hard to say that without seeing it first hand
