Looks like he graduated in 2000, but a collarbone injury in JC means he is really a 'medical red shirt Jr' coming into SMU, meaning he is one more year mature...with two to go. Or he sat out a year.

2000: In 13 games, the Warrior offense behind quarterback Jerad Romo racked up 433 points (33.3 avg. per game), unofficially, the most points ever scored by a Warrior offense in a single season. The Warriors finished the season with an impressive 10-3 overall season record; 5-1 in league play.

Earning ALL-SSL first team honors were Jerad Romo (quarterback)...

1999: The 1999 Warriors finished the season with an impressive overall record of 9 wins and 3 losses. For the year, Tehachapi would finish sixth in the county with 3,633 total yards on offense, including 2,544 yards on the ground. Jared Romo enjoyed one of the better seasons by a Warrior quarterback, firing for 60 completions (percent complete??), 1,057 yards, and 12 touchdowns.

All-League 1st team selections for the Warriors included quarterback Jerad Romo...

Basketball:
Tehachapi 81, Bakersfield Taft 74 --Tehachapi High's Jerad Romo outdueled Taft's Ryan Pollard in a matchup of two of the South Sequoia League's best players and the Warriors outlasted the Wildcats.

Romo, who helped guide Tehachapi's football team to the Central Section championship game, scored a game-high 26 points. Pollard, a Californian second-team All-Area selection last season, scored a team-high 24 points to pace Taft. Mario Carrillo pumped in 21 points and teammate Nathan Heiner added 20 for Tehachapi in the tournament semifinal game. The Warriors (4-5) will play Wasco in today's 8 p.m. tournament championship game at Wasco High. Taft's Justin Heimiller and Zach Ryan both scored 15 points each.

JUCO RANKINGS:
Romo: Nationally -- 19th, pass efficiency rating; State -- 14th, pass efficiency rating; 26th, total offense; 27th, passing yards.

"ROMO TO Assistant Head Coach Frank Blua, who is in charge of helping four year schools in their recruiting, has announced that Jerad Romo will sign a full ride to play quarterback with Southern Methodist University on Dec. 17, the first day that NCAA schools can sign community college players."

QB Rating: 144.1
Jerad Romo, Antelope Vly.,s 9 194 117 2 1590 10 13.0 144.1

For the record, Tech's fabulous JUCO QB (17) is ranked 3 spots below ROMO (14) in the stats for California.

Romo appears to be an athletic QB, judging from his HS days (running for TDs).

Definitely athletic. I saw some national JC combine numbers and Romo was ranked among the top 5 on bench. I think it was 22 reps of 185... Not bad for a QB!!
