Hopeful News on Third Target

in addition to Martin and Haynes who apparently have committed ,a third major target I mentioned a couple of weeks ago was OLM Eddie Rollman. Got good news and bad news-Notre Dame has entered the picture but hasn't offered. He says that he is leaning to Notre Dame BUT as for his Jan 9 visit to SMU you got to be optimistic from this statement-"I'm hoping to see something that impresses me on my visit to SMU this weekend". SMU has been in on Rollman from the very start and he has always listed us highly. Will also visit Purdue Jan 16 and Kansas Jan 23. At one point Rollman had reported offers from Arkansas, Houston, Arizona, Georgia Tech and Tulsa.

Let's see...sorority rush is going on. That's pretty impressive.

That certainly can't hurt. And if he's coming to SMU "hoping" to be impressed, I have every confidence Coach Bennett and his staff will do just that.

Go get him, coaches!

Not to spoil the hopes of letting this kid see some Pi Phi, Kappa, or Theta ladies, but this weekend will be off limits for young men trying to catch a glimpse of the SMU coeds. Their rush concludes with private, off-limits retreats, which unfortunately, occurs Saturday night. I believe the girls are locked down Friday night. I agree in getting recruits in early to see the campus, it's just unfortunate for the 18 year old boys to be on campus when none of the girls are out.
