I wish they would get the hires done. Only three weeks to go, and no OC or line coach - and wasn't Ringo the recruiting coordinator. It just seems that this is a critical time of year to have as many bodies as possible in the streets recruiting kids. No way in hell a kid signs on offense without knowing his coordinator or more importantly, his position coach.

As others have said, I suspect that everyone knows who they are, even that they're already helping out with recruiting in some capacity. Don't know that this is a liability at all.

I don't think open recruiting even begins again until this weekend so its no big deal right now. Let's save our criticism for some of the really stupid things they do.

Serious question, Stallion. Not loaded in any way. Could you recap what those stupid things are that "they" are doing?

Do a search for "Stallion" over the last 5 years and you'll have a few of my thoughts.

Yeah, Ringo was the coordinator, but that position is more of an administrative position, in which the RC keeps tabs on countless kids, arranges visits for coaches to kids, keeps track of calls, mailings, etc. -- moreso than actually recruiting kids himself. And by all accounts, Coach Roark does an exceptional job in those areas (and he recruits well, too .... see Cory Muse, Ervin McGee, etc.) That role has been ably filled.

Your opinion and actual circumstances have changed somewhat over the last five years. Plus, it's not just for me. You've got some good things that need to be said. So, seriously, what are the stupid things we're doing?

I know you like recruiting (at least high school) and think one coach is as good as another. That eliminates those two items. So what's your list? More JC recruits? Even lower standards for athletes? Basketweaving 101?

Nothing but crickets.

Actually the recruiting coordintor position is much more that administrative. Ringo signed more kids last year than any other coach on the staff. Not having Ringo, and more particularly not having these 2 positions filled at this critical time, is a negative.

Ringo is a good guy, but he is gone. Our coaches, shorthanded or not, will do whatever it takes to sign the young men we need. I can assure you that this staff doesn't punch a clock.
