never too late for the start of next year's recruiting. Texas Prep X-Tra has an ALL DFW Metroplex Underclassmen Team. Marcus Shavers made First Team at DLM and Chris Hall made Second Team at OLM. Jamal Evans of Irving and Mathew Stafford of HP were Soph of the Year. Another Irving kid I'm beggining to hear about made First Team at DB LaShawn Vation. Need to keep that Irving pipeline strong with some outstanding prospects passing thru.

How big/fast is Vation? I agree, we need to keep that Irving-to-SMU pipline flowing, until it's a foregone conclusion that all Irving kids are headed to SMU, and that any IHS kid who goes elsewhere is the exception to an established rule.

I don't think we should overlook the top guys in the area. I'm not saying we'll get them, but we have to try. With that in mind, here are the juniors who made the DMN All-Area team:

DT DeMarcus Granger (6-3, 325) - Kimball
- 68 tackles, 17 sacks, 11 fumbles forced, 6 fumbles recovered
- DMN area Defensive Player of the Year

QB Chase Daniel (6-1, 205) - Southlake (Carroll)
- 2,548 passing yards, 869 rushing yards, 42 TDs
- First-team all-area

RB Corey Robertson (6-0, 190) - Denison
- 2,057 rushing yards, 29 TDs
- First-team all-area

WR Howard Morrow (5-0, 185) - Keller (Fossil Ridge)
- 61 catches, 1,026 yards 13 TDs
- First-team all-area

QB Colton Stirman (6-2, 203) - Keller (Fossil Ridge)
- 2,826 passing yards, 33 TDs
- Second-team all-area

OL Jerrod Butler (6-3, 315) - Allen
- Second-team all-area

Granger is huge. Is he showing any interest in us? We need some size like that and I love seeing DISD kids at SMU.

In which case he'd be taller and heavier than Bryan Turner and Grant Eidson. So the question becomes: can he play? Or is he just a big body?
