One of the top players in the nation in the 2005 basketball class is Byron Eaton, a PG from Lincoln... also a good football prospect. ANy chance that we have even the smallest shot at this guy?

Well, I guess you can never say "NEVER," but it's as unlikely as it can be. He's a guy who's going to be pursued by the top programs in both sports. He's going to be recruited nationally in both sports. We all know SMU has a great deal to offer a recruit, but if you have a chance to play football at Miami or basketball at Kentucky, are you going to choose SMU? Even if he's the biggest mama's boy in the world, this is the longest of longshots.

The only chance we would have is allowing him to play both sports AND the Hopkins' helping us

Let him play basketball and football... and golf and track and anything else he wants to play.

Hell, I'd go watch him row with the crew team and ride with the equestrian team if it would get him to SMU!

Doesn't hurt that he's been at several of our games over the last 2 years, including the Tulsa game. He was obviously there to watch Hop but I'm guessing he might be boys with the local Tulsa kids - Kenneth Kelley and Seneca Collins.

Having said all that, I still don't think we have any shot at him.
