Ath-WR Marcus Bunton Commits

Rivals is reporting a commitment by Athlete/WR Marcus Bunton 5-9, 175 4.4 Taylor 3.8 GPA. Recruited by SMU as a Receiver but was used as an undersized QB in High School. Had 1,000 yards passing and 800 yards rushing while leading his team into the Playoffs. He was the MVP of his 17-4A. Offered by Vanderbilt. Qualified for the Texas Relays in the 100 meters as a junior but apparently scratched.

We have wanted this guy all along. I think he is a little bigger than this too.

SMU may have to sweat out the Bunton commitment a little longer. The Insiders has a report on Bunton for the first time today and extensively interviews his coach. The Coach said he knew Bunton was real high on SMU but didn't seem to acknowledge his commitment. Maybe his info was a little old? But Coach claims that the recruiting of Bunton has gotten hot recently and he now has offers from SMU, Iowa, TCU, Utah, Baylor with Texas Tech recently expressed interest and Arkansas had previously. In all 15 coaching staffs expressed interest in Bunton. I wonder if this might be a case of a Coach stretching the truth a bit because I thought I saw a quote from Bunton the other day that said his only other offer was from Vanderbilt.
