Eric Morris 5-9, 171 4.41 Shallowater(6 miles from Lubbock. Although there are only a handful of 2A players who get scholarships to Division 1A schools this kid is getting some good visits down the stretch. District Offensive MVP and All-South Plains MVP as Senior. Excellent BB player-made First Team All State in 2A in BB as a JUNIOR and is Preseason ALL State as Senior. Tech's recruiters called him another Wes Welker and the Best Kept Secret in Texas. No offers but visiting Tech this weekend, SMU(1/23) and A&M 1/30. Tech is the frontrunner-because of proximity to Lubbock, his Dad went to Tech and he has been going to Tech games since he was a 2 year old. But Morris said he is also excited about SMU & A&M. He said SMU & A&M seem to be the most likely to offer. Aggie coach said his stock has gone up 900% in the last few weeks. Morris said "I also really like what they are doing at SMU. They think I can come in there and play almost right away. More on Morris- was Third Team All State(2A) as a Junior at WR. His team was 12-2 this year in his first year at QB. Going into his final game which they lost to Jim Ned he had 97 completions on 170 attempts and 1,767 yards 19 TDs and 104 carries for 869 yards. BUT he also had 8 Ints on defense and over his 3 year carear he had an INCREDIBLE 18 kicks or Punts returned for TDs. Kid is simply outstanding at everything he tries. Interesting-I'm sure Tech was hoping to get this kid for their substantial walk-on program but they may have to offer now.

Intriguing, but isn't this just version two of the kid signed last year from Arp?

On the other hand, Troup is 2A as well...(cf:KK)

well if we are going to the spread offense these kind of receivers can have some success-he's a sleeper no doubt but geez he has done every thing you could possibly ask him to do in two sports and two positions albeit at a very low classification. Updated stats. As a JUNIOR WR 52 catches for 1,068 yards. As a SENIOR final stats-926 yards rushing 24 TDs and passed for 1,926 yards and 22 TDs. Having Big 12 Visits to Tech and A&M this late in the game even for a 2A player is pretty impressive.

All that is great, and I agree...but wouldn't it be nice to be talking about these guys & have them be 6'2 or taller at the same time?

Yes but we've gotten outrecruited quite frankly for those types for the last millenium.

...guess we won't have to worry about it because he just committed to Tech.
