Recruiting Model

Which recruiting model do we want?

1) Better ingredients. Better pizza. (MEANING: Better recruits, better team)

2) Get the door. It's Domino's. (MEANING: We'll take what we can get)

3) Everyone gets what they want. (MEANING: Stupid is as stupid does)

4) Always hot. Always fresh. (MEANING: You win some, you lose some)

5) Pizza! Pizza! (MEANING: Football! Football!)

I vote for #1. But, I do think Campisi's is DE-LI-CIOUS (Better Cooks make pizza taste better).

What we have to bear in mind is that at the moment, we're building for the future. We're not expecting to win the Rose Bowl in 2004. So the management of the program (shedding excess baggage to free up scholarships -- and then having the patience to save them for future years if the quality of available players is not what we want) should be lauded.

At this point, the process is more important than the immediate results. Through the right process, the long-term results will take care of themselves.

Realistically, the "future" began when Coach Bennett and his staff came on board. They've started the process, done endless legwork and started to build relationships with Texas high school coaches. The results will start to show in 2004, and will really take off in 2005. Keep it up, coaches!

How does that mean you win some, you lose some. Looks more like you get a lot of young talented recruits.

Ok, sounds good. There isn't a universally agreed upon translation from Pizza slogans to Recruiting models. I just made it up. I like yours better.
