Does anyone know what the status is on Donald Massey? It appears he is waiting for another school to give him a last minute scholarship offer. I assumed we could get him to play for SMU since his brother is on the team. Any comments are appreciated.

As is Tyler Ribitzki. And that's his last official visit.

Always save the toilet for last.

He may have saved the toilet for last but he never took a visit here, even after getting an offer. Where do we fit in that toilet scenario?

we did not offer Tyle anything but a visit ...He committed to UTEP on Thursday before his SMU visit.
I would guess UTEP pressured him to accepting their offer before visiting SMU or it would be pulled and not available. Happens all the time with the second tier player.

Massey now reporting that his Houston visit probably rated higher than TCU due to his host Vincent Marshall. Said he will visit A&M next weekend and decide Monday. No mention of SMU-for the 10th straight time.

Stampede, you have incorrect information. Ribitizki narrowed his final two to SMU and Houston, with offers from 4 others including SMU, but chose to visit Houston instead. He was never committed to UTEP.

Rivals reports that Ribitzki committed to UTEP with his only alternative being Arkansas St. I've seen no evidence SMU really was interested other than outdated DMN lists which were not accurate.

My bad, I was told he had offers from UTEP, SMU, Houston, Colo. State, Ark. St., and numerous smaller schools. From my understanding he wanted to visit SMU and Houston on the last weekend, went to Houston instead and picked the Miners out of sheer excitement for Price. I have a feeling Price will return the Miners to respectability quicker than anyone expects...not because of Ribitzki, just because of the coach he is.

Houston just got a committment from CB Matterial Richardson who was thought to be a package deal with his teammate Safety N'Derian Wrighter. Everyone expected them to both committ to Arkansas, but obviously this will not happen. It still looks as if Wrighter will attend Ark, but if Houston is able to get both these guys it would be impressive.
I'm ok with losing guys to A&M, Tech, and Arkansas, but just feel like we should be right in the mix when it comes to Houston and Tulsa. Just goes to show what one impressive and exciting season can do for your recruiting.
FYI- This also is another CB that isn't attending Arkansas, that may in turn affect the whole David Haynes scenario.

Now he says he didn't committ to Houston and both ofthem are going to Arkansas. This helps SMU in two ways. Maybe Haynes will stay with us, and at least Houston didn't get these guys.

no the story on Richardson is that he doesn't have a qualifying score and won't retake the SAT until March-notice once again the trend of non/partial-qualifiers backing off from schools in conferences which limit non/partial-qualifiers. Richardson was probably just trying to land at a school which doesn't restrict his opportunity. Its a January tradition!

My contact says that Massey walked out halfway through his SAT a couple of weeks ago, so it appears he won't have a test score to qualify him.
