Arkansas Withdraws Kharylake Martin’s Offer
Phil Fritz, Senior Editor
10 October 2002
The Razorbacks have withdrawn Kharylake Martin’s scholarship offer. Martin, the man-mountain from Dayton, Texas, had picked Arkansas of Rice and Texas Christian this summer. The 6-6, 335-pound lineman currently has Louisiana State, Southern Methodist, Tennessee and Texas A&M on his “short list.â€
The Razorbacks still have a dozen recruits.
-------------------
From ATHLONS: "In the SEC, Arkansas scored two major area coups by landing Kharylake Martin and Nathaniel Garner; two huge linemen generally regarded the best Arkansas. "
------------------------
From ESPN: "The Buffs recently gained offensive lineman Kharylake Martin of Dayton, Tex., over SMU;"

yeah, we recruited him pretty hard at the tail end of last year's recruiting season. He is an huge lineman. I have no idea if we were interested the second time around. Maybe he has some issues since Arkansas stopped recruiting him and he left CU after just one season.

He either had to transfer to 1-AA or sit out next year, so at least he gets to play next year and could transfer into any Division 1 school the following year without waiting.

I dont think so. If he had gone to a junior college for next season he could have transferred to a D1 school as a junior without penalty. But if he goes to another D-1A school after a D-1aa, he's going to have to sit out.
