Darrell Colbert District MVP, Kyrian Mitchell Defensive MVP, Brylon Hyder Second Team All Greater Houston and All District at Center (see his thread above), and Shelby Walker All district. That's a pretty good honor for Mitchell just to beat out his own teammates including DE Ira Lewis (Baylor), S John Bonney (Texas) and their top CB Plattenburg (UCLA).

I recall that we were in on Lewis, but not sure about Bonney and Plat. Wasn't Bonney an early UT commit?

Either way, we should offer Nolan a position on our staff!

Not to get too far ahead of the game, but it sounds like all 6 Lamar Mustangs have a chance to be solid players. Give us 6 more!

I am just glad we are not recruiting anymore 5'8" 170 pound receivers that do not even have a low level BCS offer and barely can run a 4.59 forty.

JasonB doesn't like those type of small receiver and I don't blame him.

Give me 100 Aldricks or DJs or Beasleys. Size ain't as important as ability.

Give me Calvin Johnson, AJ Green, and Josh Gordon over Wes Welker, Steve Smith and Desean Jackson every day and all day.

Size isn't everything, but it sure as hell helps

I think 5'10" is about where we need to stop except on a few exceptions. I guess if we have 100 somebody could eventually play NT or offensive lineman. They would just have to put on some weight. What about the other short guys that did not work since you are pointing to the one that did. I do not consider Aldrick or DJ short. But we don't have any short wr's in this class so I guess we are progressing and JasonB can be happy.

the short guys are a bigger concern if June leaves after 2014 and we transition to a new offense with a TE and FBs or less inside receivers. Rarely can the little guys be effective outside. Could be transition problem depending on offense run

I never once said I was happy or not with that recruit. I simply pointed out where he would fit in the current scheme. That is all.

You indicated you did not like the size of the recruit and so did PerunaPunch.
