Interesting Recruiting Factoids

These are from a UH fan and I haven't checked-but some interesting information here

225 Texas HS kids have been offered by at least one school in the Big 12, SEC, ACC, Big 10 and Pac 12. So there are a lot more than 100 good players in Texas.

Houston has 10 commits out of these 226 kids. To put that in perspective:

187 of the kids have committed somewhere.
39 are uncommitted.

165 of the kids committed to an ACC, Big 12, Big 10, SEC or Pac 12 school (or ND).
22 of the kids committed to a school outside of those conferences
10 of those 22 are coming to Houston

So out of all the "G5" schools, we are kicking tail when it comes to signing Texas talent. No one else has more than 2 such commitments.

I think the success of Baylor and Duke this year has shown that smaller schools can actually compete in the bigger conferences. The impact of this is that more of the "three star" kids are committing to the lesser schools in the top 5 conferences instead of attending schools outside of those conferences.

The creation of the playoff system as well as the talk of big schools paying athletes has also had a significant impact. Those who are outside of the top 5 conferences are going to be squeezed pretty hard over the next couple of years.
