I hope Larry didn't get locked out the house because he is always on the road on his days-off. I'd like to see a single Division 1A Coach with his recruiting schedule-its torrid. With this big 2015 Class coming up Larry is going for throat-he wants a National Championship. I'm not going to be the one to tell him it can't be done

June needs to talk sine sense into him. At our level SMU cannot compete against the P5 conferences.

Yeah hope June doesn't suggest he slow down and enjoy his Golden Years

June needs to talk sine sense into him. This would be far worse than the ASU fiasco, and grounds for immediate termination 8)

Watching Brown tonight he looks like he may be having the most fun he has ever had coaching.

Definitely. He is loving it! Loves the city, loves the fans, loves the school ....at least outwardly.

I mean realistically whether he does love it or doesn't, by acting like he is 100% he is achieving his goal of transforming a team into something special from out of nowhere. (not saying he is disgenuine or doesn't like smu). There's absolutely nothing to gain from openly complaining about your school.

You've got to fake it until you make it. He may or may not have faked it, but now that he's made it Moody Coliseum has transformed into the type of environment that any coach would want to play at. He no longer has to fake it and I'm sure plenty of recruits will be fighting for a spot on the team.

If LB can win a national championship at SMU it will be the crowning achievement on an illustrious career.

You don't get the same credit when you win at UCLA and Kansas because.... Well.... You are supposed to win.

But to win at SMU ..... That's all Larry Brown. And he knows it.

That's why he will stay.

SMU2007:
"There's absolutely nothing to gain from openly complaining about your school."

JJ would disagree with you on that one.

Guys, this is embarrassing. You hate JJ, you love JJ, you're somewhere in between. Personally, I have issues with a lot of things he does, including the ASU thing. However:

What if he were a member of your family. Dad, brother, son. Whatever. At what point do you say "I hate the way you handled it, you messed up" and then support him to do better the next time?

This is a thread about a basketball recruit who's supposed to be pretty good, and even this turns into JJ-bashing? We all can list things he can do better, but it's time to grow up and move on, and remember that the school, the team, is bigger than any coach or player.

I agree to an extent, the problem is he hasn't shown any interest in trying to do better the next time. His coaching peaked here a few years ago, it's been an obvious downward spiral in recruiting, coaching, winning, and fan attendance.
