Is it just me - or is the activity level increased fairly significantly on the Football recruiting front?
Increases in HS visits. I don't recall this many offers out this early in the past. Not sure if the quality is stronger or not.
Perhaps there was something in that contract extension that addressed recruiting efforts. Something appears to have lit a fire under the staff. Perhaps they took a look at what happened in BBall.
Correct me if I'm wrong about this.

Meh, it's still nowhere near the activity level of legit football programs.

It seems like more than normal. I wonder why this didn't happen in the past.

If he was trying to act like he is worth his salary he should have been
doing it all these years, too little too late.

It's still mostly a farce. Kids still getting offered through the coach and have never actually spoken to an SMU coach.
Yeah, it's a little bit better effort wise, but still a joke for the most part.

It is not uncommon for kids to receive offers from schools (not just SMU) before ever speaking with a coach. Let's keep it real here.

If other schools do it it is strategy. When SMU does it is is a combination of laziness and ineptitude apparently.

Not uncommon? What does that mean? I'd bet its not uncommon for those schools to have plenty of "free time" after Thanksgiving as well. Its definitely not a winning strategy with a top prospect

No question but you know it happens so don't pretend it doesn't. If you want to talk strategy, that's a different discussion and not what I was pointing out.

Thought I read on one of the sites that Emmanuel Sanders told one of the guys he had an SMU offer...I actually thought that was actually pretty cool. Not sure how accurate that is, or if it's an NCAA violation of not

I'm glad to see the increased activity. My concern is that tiki may just be going by and saying ' hi, I'm jj' and then hoping the h.s. coaches will recruit for him. Or perhaps even worse- just throwing out a bunch of offers and then when the recruits don't sign he can say that he tried but his old method worked better. Guess signing day will be the proof of the pudding.
