That's 2-I'm still predicting 8-not necessarily a bad thing although McCrary is a versatile athlete that could have been used in several spots. The next coach is going to need flexibility to retool the team for his schemes. Too many smaller receivers already

Not a bad thing at all. We need as many open scholarships as possible for the new coach to use for players that fit his scheme.
Let's face it. The only guys we have committed this year really don't have any other offers. Not the kind of players that will improve our team.
I'd be happy with a small class this year so we can have maximum scholarships the following year when the new coach will have time to properly evaluate and recruit.

How many seniors will we have the next year?

Maximum scholarships are 25 no matter how many you give out the year before. And it is best to try and stay at or near the maximum limit of 85 overall. No need to waste scholarships but if a new coach can find bodies he think he can work with he may as well use them. We are back to recruiting over rather than recruiting up.

you mean 25
and what you do is find kids that graduate in December, are Division 1A transfers or JUCOs and count backwards to the prior year limit of 25

Looks like the rest are going to hold on and see if the new guy wants them. Two might be kept on and the others are headed to Thin Air U.

Won't be surprised if we lose a couple of more.

we should have plenty of room since schollies are done on a YTY basis. I'm sure the new coach will not have a problem getting rid of some of the deadwood on this team. Hopefully we can start will a full 25 of much better quality players.

There are several I would like to see us keep. However, I'm excited about the new coach and feel confident he will know how to recruit much better than what we have seen in the past.
