Today was a big day for commitments for the top players in the Country. Big winners today Alabama(2), Texas(2), LSU, Georgia, USC, Virginia Tech. Apparently, their decent bowl season hasn't showed yet as Big 10 has zero 5 star commitments on either Rivals or Scout

SEC 15
ACC 6
PAC 3
Big 12 1
Big 10 0

How is Texas(2) with Big 12 1?

BTW in a cruel way this title is misleading...

These announcements were made at the Under Armour All American Game-the players in that game doesn't jive exactly with Rivals/Scout 5 stars-there are only usually about 30-35 Five Stars each year from Rivals. The source I used for 5 stars was Rivals

As expected, Charlie Strong has Texas right back at the top of Big 12 recruiting again. Oklahoma right there in recruiting still, but their overall momentum seems to be going in opposite directions.

Strong=Weak when viewed on the Morris Scale

actually pulled ahead of Texas A&M in Total Points on Scout but not by other measures. Class ranked 6th on Scout and No. 11 on Rivals. Getting 2 big names from his old stomping grounds in Florida is unusual for Texas. The problem now is the Big 12 Perception Problem. Big 12 recruiting has tailed off in recent years and it seems to be showing

5 star Texan Daylon Mack could change some recruiting rankings. A&M decommit supposedly considering LSU, TCU, Texas. Quite a coup if TCU could pull it off.

Just goes to show what great jobs briles and Fatterson do with mostly 3 star recruits. This may be better than what they used to do which is even more impressive.

More major commitments today this time at Army All-America Game

Looks like Charlie Strong had a Florida surprise this recruiting season as Texas gets their 4th big Florida recruit. TE Devonaaire Clarington. Could be another later today. Takes a little sting out of the SEC invasion of Texas

Cedar Hill LB Richard Moore recommitted to Aggies-I wonder if DeMarkus Lodge does too

...and CB Tim Irvin , whose Uncle is Michael Irvin-makes 5 Top Florida commitments from Charlie Strong's old stomping grounds

Get this: No school above Mason Dixon Line has a 5 star commitment on either Rivals or Scout including Notre Dame as well

Wow. I can understand not having as many, but none? Pretty telling.
