QB Everett Golson Transferring from ND

Postby PonyTime » Mon Jan 05, 2015 5:10 pm

Wonder if Coach Morris and Clemson recruited him - since he is from S. Carolina...

Word is - academically, he could not cut it at ND.

i doubt it was academic. ND can play the academic mish mash game as well as anyone.

He flunked out of Notre Dame in 2013 due to cheating in academics. Seems like he is running out of years. You don't get a year back after academic suspension. Unless he has a sick relative, he'll have to sit out his fourth year if he transfers since I doubt he is on track to be a graduate Senior

They had 5 players suspended this year for academic reasons and improprieties. You really think that would have happened at Alabama or any p5 school not named Stanford, duke or Vanderbilt? Nope

Either way this is just a rumor and he may go through spring training first before making a decision.

Good point. Word is it's possible (but unlikely) he could actually get enough credits to graduate in May. Then he could transfer anywhere without having to sit out

about 15 major college FB and BB players have been ruled academically ineligible in the last 2 weeks and from major programs. Nobody notices these things unless its your school.

Have there been more than 1 from any one school and if so more than one true starter?

Not all fb and bb players are of the same grain to afford ruling ineligible at every school. And let's be honest how many more schools behave more like north Carolina vs ND with regards to the standards of their 'student' athletes?

yeah I think Virginia Tech had 2 football players. Not really counting Louisiana Tech in those numbers but they had 5 at quarter break in early December. UCLA had a BB player. Louisville had a star FB RB. West Virginia-Football.Those come to mind

Now Texas had 3 FB players ineligible at midterm last year

MAJOR fan of getting Everett on the Hilltop after he graduates in May.

Let's also not forget that he was VERY close to playing 2 sports at UNC.

Would love EG to get an opp w Larry Brown after HCCM wins 9 on his back.

1) He is horrible
2) He wouldn't be able to practice with the team until the Fall
3) He is really horrible
4) He would be a stop gap solution that hurt the development of Hicks/Davis/Other.

Other than that, he is a perfect fit.

won't argue you with you on EG's quality as a player and his past production speaks for itself.

this was his second season as a starter.

excited to see where he ends up. would love it if HCCM gave him a shot

Has it even been confirmed that he's transferring?
