Awesome -- can't have too many big guys up front. He's a little light, so hopefully he has great athleticism that he can retain while getting bigger. Welcome!

Academics are also important to Bates, and he’s excited to get the chance to play football while studying at a premier university. He plans to major in business. “At some point, as coach Morris put it, you stand on an inflated football and its hard to balance, but once the air comes out and you have a good foundation, then it’ll take you a lot further in life,†Bates said. “I’ll eventually have to hang the cleats up, but I’ll always come back to that degree.â€
HCCM and Co. have already found their stride with this first class. Opportunity on the field for your football career, opportunity in the classroom for your life.

At 6'3 and 265 lbs he is plenty big to develop.

True that. It will be interesting to see where he ends up, guard or tackle.

He's listed as 6-4, 265 on both Rivals and Scout and based on his Senior highlites I think that's about right
