"Clemons, who is scheduled to be in town January 23, does not yet claim a Maryland offer, but the Terps could use some extra help in the secondary and would like to add one more player in the unit in this class."

"Maryland and New Mexico also offered Clemons, but he is shutting down his recruitment now that he is committed. He previously planned an official visit to Maryland for the weekend of Jan. 23 and New Mexico on for Jan. 30, but said he will not take those."
This might answer two question from above...as copied from the scout story.

Season Highlites
The initial hit is classic head hunter Safety with outstanding closing range that would get the attention of most any DB Coach. Impressive legitimate D1A speed. Several examples of great range. I like

Clemons is definitely the top of the day. We needed the OL badly - good frame and potential. Not sure about the LB but coaches know best.
Sure would like to pick up West

Great video. Size wise is lanky, long arms, kind of like Shaq randolph when he came in. Except of course, this guy has plus speed and can hit. Last guy in the SMU secondary that could plant and accelerate to contact like that was Bell right before the concussions. Quick reads on the running plays.
