Robinson linebacker McNew sold on SMU

Matt McNew had a sense that last weekend could bring about one of life’s defining moments, and he was right.

After the Robinson senior linebacker visited SMU last weekend, he knew exactly what he wanted to do. He committed to the Mustangs on Sunday.

“My impressions were that it’s a top-notch program,” said McNew, ranked as the No. 7 prospect in the Trib’s Centex 25 recruiting list. “The coaches are very good people, they’ve got the right people in place, and the facilities are as good as it gets.”
