SB Nation Article on David Moore choosing SMUMakes me dislike the bigger schools even more...
Here's the article: SMU scored a major victory Thursday as Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton High School QB David Moore committed to Chad Morris and Co. over the likes of Utah, Oregon State, Illinois and Houston. Moore is 6'2, athletic and has a strong arm. As Moore told SB Nation during our month of following his visits, SMU had advantages: he lived in Dallas for four years, and SMU's new staff was recruiting Moore when at Clemson in 2014. The three-star had planned to commit in late May, and was considering moving his timetable as power schools began to send offers. But things changed when he saw Wake Forest, a school he really liked, accept a commitment from another QB. He worried spots were drying up. And he got wind of a rumor that another QB was going to grab the spot at SMU, which went 1-11 in 2014. (Edited) To read this article in its entirety, CLICK HERE.
Re: SB Nation Article on David Moore choosing SMUThat doesn't sound like the hard commit we wanted...he is going to talk to ASU and A&M?
Re: SB Nation Article on David Moore choosing SMUSounds like a 'soft' commit to me:
"I'm going to talk to [the SMU coaches] about it," Moore said about whether ASU or A&M eventually offer. "I'll talk to them and say, 'Hey, Arizona State was one of my dream schools, and it would be smart for me to do my due diligence; what do you think?' I don't know how they will respond. "This is going to be really interesting."
Re: SB Nation Article on David Moore choosing SMUIt's funny hearing BC and Utah puff out their chests and criticize "lowly SMU". And the only reason to go to ASU is because it's a party school. If that's all you want to do in college is party, go ahead, please go there instead.
This is the game we play if we want to play with the 'big boys'. Get used to it. Last edited by ojaipony on Thu Apr 23, 2015 1:55 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: SB Nation Article on David Moore choosing SMU
Yes, we could be getting commitments from kids that have no other FBS offers and that is why they are solid. These Morris and Craddock are accustomed to dealing with commits that have multiple offers and will work hard to keep this commit. #HammerDown
Re: SB Nation Article on David Moore choosing SMUthe fact is that if these P5 schools are only offering now then David Moore probably wasn't in their Top 5. ALL major schools got their top QB offers out months ago-some a year ago. He's probably a little bit farther down their lists as fallbacks. Most Top QBs are already off the table 10 months from signing date

Re: SB Nation Article on David Moore choosing SMUSo for people who know. Who is better hicks or moore? I assume they will most likely be battling it out in the upcoming years.
What a good problem to have.
Re: SB Nation Article on David Moore choosing SMUI can take the Utah arrogance, but B.C. is on drugs with their attitude.
Re: SB Nation Article on David Moore choosing SMUHe does know that June did not get the ASU job doesn't he?
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: SB Nation Article on David Moore choosing SMU
Heard June initially promised him that if he got the ASU job then he would not recruit another QB in his class.
Re: SB Nation Article on David Moore choosing SMU
I agree, and it's directly in conflict with how the article quotes Morris. Cutcliffe has the same rule--if you commit, it's a hard commit, and if you later flirt with other schools, Duke will de-commit you.
Re: SB Nation Article on David Moore choosing SMUI wonder what "brain-type' he is?

Re: SB Nation Article on David Moore choosing SMU
Not the best move by Utah to put down other programs like that, not mature and very insecure.

Professor Niednagel has the answer... but he'll only tell if you give him a job at the University!
