Very Watson-esque. The entire class is riding on this guy. Morris will go as far as this young man will take him.

1) He is probably not going to be part of the class.
2) If he doesn't sign, we probably don't take a QB in this class.
3) Even if he does sign, he looks like a great runner. His passing needs a LOT of work.

Why do you say he is probably not going to be a part of this class? Is he seriously considering Memphis?

Some people can't handle recruiting....they shake and wail when other schools come talk and get our commits to visit. If you remember, Moore said he would have jumped had Arizona St. or A&M offered him...Memphis HC was ASU OC. Do the math. Courtesy nod.
Moore is coming to Dallas.

I've already expressed myself on another recruiting site about this but this bad-mouthing of committed prospects really has to stop. David Moore has not said or done one thing to deserve this crap. Shut up and let the Coaches handle it. Its mrydel's job to proclaim final judgment and then have at it. Right now he is part of the SMU family or SMU wouldn't have had him on an official visit this last weekend

PS I disagree about your analysis of his potential and so do 24 other Division 1A Coaches and about 8 P5 Coaches-and offers are still flowing in from better programs than SMU. He'd be the best high school QB prospect we've signed in the last decade.

The best high school QB we've signed in a decade. That's a really impressive bullet point.

To the extent my post was taken as bad mouthing him, I apologize. He definitely has significant potential and I want him on The Hilltop. Running the ball, he is absolutely top notch. #veryimpressed

But, his passing highlights were "OK" -> not great -> not bad. Although his arm strength appears more than adequate, the highlights didn't show me that he is ready to challenge for a D1 starting job. In particular, the highlights didn't show a QB ready to work his way through progressions. To be fair, his HS offense didn't appear to require him to work through progressions and nothing in the highlights suggested that he "can't play" at a D1 level.

Bottom line, it will take a few years to determine what he can become. With better coaching than he got in Georgia, he has the potential to remind people of Greg Ward Jr and/or Boykin. But, he isn't currently ready to be anointed D. Watson 2.0.

Nevertheless, in light of all the drama regarding his recruitment, I remain skeptical that he will actually sign with us.

As to his 28 offers, collecting offers from schools like Charlotte and Southern Illinois doesn't impress me. The offers from Houston, Illinois, Syracuse, UCF and Utah definitely do.

Seriously? those highlites show OUTSTANDING patience and pocket presence. Check out his Game Performance thread-that has been may take on a bunch of game videos. He's relaxed in the pocket, doesn't panic-he keeps his eyes downfield. Guess your just going to have to disagree with me and 24 Head Coaches willing to offer him a scholarship. He is being recruited to run the spread-not the Run N Shoot. This kid fits the SMU offense perfectly with a very high upside. But I guess ONLY 8 P5 offers really sucks for a 2-10 program--and note just about every Top G5 program too like Houston, Temple, Memphis, UCF, South Florida

The people on this board have been bad mouthing recruits for years. I don't see how it is going to magically stop now.

Regardless of offers or anything else, I look at the QBs CM recruited at Clemson and I trust that he can figure out what he needs to run his offense. If CM wants a player, that is good enough for me. The FACT that this was our first choice QB tells me we want him. I hope he sticks around and adds more competition.

Kind of like you bad mouthed Marks. Also look at the offer list of those players he recruited at Clemson and that should tell you enough even though you try to dismiss offers. He is not recruiting kids with no FBS offers or no P5 offers at QB. That means other upper tier schools area taking notice as well. That usually means something. People at FAU and Eastern Michigan say I trust the coaches. We had some people say about June and Mason say they trusted them. Anyway, I like his film and hope he stays with SMU.

I think his passing looks fine. He is more than just a running QB.
